Walking With You Toward Clarity, Resilience, and Hope
I became a counselor because of the profound difference therapy made in my own life. During my freshman year at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, I met a therapist who “got it” for the first time. That safe, transformative experience ignited a passion to one day offer the same kind of healing space to others. Over time, as I worked with children, teens, and families, I saw how deeply trauma and relationships shape people’s lives. That realization led me to pursue my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Montevallo, where I am now training to become a professional counselor.
My Approach to Counseling
I believe counseling is most powerful when it feels safe, compassionate, and collaborative. My philosophy is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect for each client’s unique journey. I recognize that trauma does not discriminate, and I strive to honor each person’s story with gentleness and care.
I am particularly drawn to working with couples and young adults navigating betrayal trauma, attachment injuries, anxiety, and life transitions. I hope to help clients explore how early experiences shape their relationships and identity—and to guide them toward resilience, clarity, and healthier connections.
Clients often describe me as calm, approachable, and dependable. I aim to bring a steady presence into the counseling room, helping people feel seen and supported while discovering their own strength and capacity for growth.
Training and Professional Development
I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Montevallo, with an expected graduation date of December 2026. My training includes:
Psychological First Aid and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Specialized study in trauma and attachment
Ongoing certification through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP)
Training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy
I am an active member of Chi Sigma Iota, the American Counseling Association, and the American Mental Health Counselors Association, which keep me connected to mentors and leaders in the counseling field.
Outside of Counseling
Outside of counseling, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and exploring new places. I also love finding unique vintage treasures and spending time with friends and family. Volunteering in the community—whether through food distribution or helping with social-emotional skill programs in schools—has been another meaningful part of my life.
