Therapy that respects your faith — integrated as much, or as little, as you want

Your Faith Doesn't Have To Sit Outside The Therapy Room

For many people, faith isn't a topic — it's the framework they understand their whole life through. So when something is hard, the last thing you want is to explain or defend your beliefs to a therapist who doesn't share your worldview, or to wonder whether your values are quietly being worked around.

At Insights Counseling Center, you don't have to choose between skilled clinical care and respect for your faith. Our Christian counseling is faith-sensitive and client-led: we honor your beliefs, and we integrate faith into the work as much — or as little — as you want. For some clients that means prayer, Scripture, and an openly Christian frame. For others it simply means a therapist who respects their faith and never asks them to leave it at the door. You set the depth.

What "Faith-Sensitive, Client-led" Means

We don't lead with faith, and we never impose it. Instead, we follow you:

  • If you want faith woven in — prayer, Scripture, and your spiritual life can be part of sessions.

  • If you want it simply respected — you'll have a therapist who understands and honors your beliefs without making them the focus.

  • Either way — you're receiving licensed, research-based clinical care, not advice dressed up as counseling.

This is the difference between Christian counseling at Insights and informal pastoral support: you get the full weight of professional training and a team that takes your faith seriously.

Led By Clinicians Who Understand Both Worlds

Our co-founder, Tal Prince, holds a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and is an ordained minister — in addition to his clinical work. That background means our practice genuinely understands the language, questions, and tensions that come with living out a faith, and it shapes how our whole team approaches faith-sensitive care.

Our whole team practices in a faith-sensitive way — whoever you work with will respect your beliefs and never ask you to set them aside. And for clients who want faith woven in more directly — prayer, Scripture, an openly Christian frame — we'll match you with a clinician who offers that. You're always paired with the right fit for the depth of faith integration you want.

When Christian Counseling Helps

People come to us for faith-sensitive care across all of what we do:

An older married couple smiling and enjoying time together outdoors.
  • Christian marriage counseling and couples therapy — strengthening or repairing a marriage in a way that honors your shared faith and commitments

  • Affair and betrayal recovery — navigating the spiritual and relational weight of betrayal and infidelity, including questions of forgiveness, repentance, and rebuilding trust

  • Sex and pornography addiction recoveryspecialized recovery that respects the shame, faith, and community dimensions this often carries

  • Individual struggles — anxiety, grief, trauma, or life transitions, held with respect for your spiritual life

  • Faith and doubt — space to process hard questions without judgment, whatever you're working through

What To Expect

Starting is simple, and there are no surprises:

  1. Reach out. Tell us a little about what's bringing you in, and that faith matters to you.

  2. Get matched. We'll pair you with a licensed clinician suited to your situation — one who fits both your clinical needs and the level of faith integration you want.

  3. You set the depth. Early on, you tell us how much you'd like faith integrated. You can adjust that any time; it's always your call.

  4. Do the work. Skilled, research-based therapy that honors who you are and what you believe.

Common questions about Christian counseling

Is this only for Christians?

Christian counseling is for anyone who wants their faith respected and, if they choose, integrated into therapy. We work with people across the spectrum of faith and doubt. You're welcome here wherever you are.

Will you pray or use Scripture in sessions?

Only if you want us to. Some clients want prayer and Scripture woven in; others simply want a therapist who respects their beliefs. You decide — and we'll match you with a clinician who's the right fit for the approach you want. You can change your mind at any point.

Is this pastoral counseling or licensed therapy?

It's licensed, professional therapy provided by trained, credentialed clinicians — therapy that is sensitive to your faith. Our co-founder happens to also be an ordained minister with an MDiv, which deepens our understanding, but you're receiving real clinical care.

Do you offer Christian marriage counseling?

Yes. We help couples strengthen and repair their marriage in a way that honors their shared faith, using research-based methods like the Gottman Method and EFT. Faith is integrated to the degree you both want.

Can we do this online?

Yes. We offer faith-sensitive Christian counseling in person in Birmingham, online across Alabama, or via telehealth in Florida.
